Our Commitment to Students
The needs of the students who refer to the Service are attended to on an individual basis. All counsellors employed within the Student Counselling Service are well-trained, qualified and accredited and adhere to the relevant ethical and practice code for counselling and also service practice policies. Trainees and sessional counsellors on placements are supervised and fully monitored by the service. This guarantees a safe and confidential environment for clients. What we ask of you
· Treat staff of the Service with courtesy and respect
· Provide accurate and up-to-date contact information
· Regularly check email and voicemail messages when waiting for an appointment and respond promptly to these
· Inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment
· Tell a member of our staff when a problem for you arises in relationship to the Service
· Give feedback on your experience of the service by completing the annual online service evaluation survey. If you are agreeable to us contacting you by email, you will be offered the opportunity to complete the questionnaire.
How you can help us improve our service
We welcome any comments from you, good or not. If you have a positive experience, tell others, if not, please tell us. We appreciate feedback to enable us to improve the service we offer. Those who give permission to use their email are offered the opportunity to give feedback through the annual service evaluation survey. If you have a complaint, please speak to any member of staff initially. Failing this, please ask the secretary for a copy of the service formal complaints procedures and follow the guidance given.
