  • Sandyford Initiative: TEL 0141-211-8130 Sexual health and reproductive health services for women, men and young people in Glasgow. Has a wide range of specialist services including counselling.
  • Breathing Space: TEL 0800-83 85 87  A free, confidential phone-line you can call when you're feeling down 6pm - 2am.
  • Nightline: TEL 0141-353-1050  A listening and information service for Glasgow University students run by the Student Representative Council from 7pm - 7am.
  • No Panic: TEL 0808 808 0545 Helpline for those suffering from anxiety, phobias, panic attacks etc. Provides information, advice and listening ear.
  • Carers' Rights: TEL 0141-353-6504 Are you looking after someone? This helpline will provide information on what supports you can call on. Or you can email carerssupportline@crossroads-scotland.co.uk.
  • Gay Men's Health: Glasgow now has a counselling service for gay and bisexual men living with HIV and their partners regardless of HIV status. To arrange an appointment either email counselling@gmh.org.uk or 'phone 0141-552-0112.

  • Muslim Bereavement Counselling Project: TEL 0141-585-8026  Amina, Network House, 311 Calder Street, Glasgow. G42 7NQ.
  • B-eat beating eating disorders: Adult helpline TEL 0845-643-1414 and Youth helpline 0845-643-7650.
  • Healthy Living: TEL 0845 2 78 88 78  Advice on eating healthily and physical activity 8am - 10pm.
  • Eating Disorders Association: TEL 08456 34 14 14. Monday - Friday 10.30am - 8.30pm; Saturday 1pm - 4.30pm.
  • Archway Glasgow: TEL 0141-211-8175 offers help to women, men and adolescents (ages 13,14 and 15) who have been the victims of assault within the past 7 days. Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Rape Crisis Telephone Support Services TEL 0141-552-3200 (check answering machine for opening hours).
  • Roofie Foundation: TEL 0800783 2980 - 24/7. One stop information service for victims of drug rape and sexual abuse through drink spiking.  
  • Drinkline:  TEL 0800-917-8282  A national alcohol helpline which provides, counselling, support, advice and information. Available 24 hours a day.
  • Drugline Scotland:  TEL 0800-776600. An information service available 7 days a week from 10am - 2pm.

  • Samaritans UK:  TEL 08457-90 90 90   Provides emotional support to anyone who is feeling depressed or suicidal. Available 24 hours a day.

  • Cruse Helpline: TEL 0844-477-9400. Help with bereavement issues.
  • Compassionate Friends Helpline (for bereaved parents): TEL 0845-123-2304. Available 365 days of the year 10am - 4pm & 6.30pm - 10.30pm.
  • Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide: TEL 0115-944-1117. National Helpline: 0844-561-6855. Available 9am - 9pm.
  • Glasgow Suicide Support Group: TEL 0141-548-1515.
  • Dumbarton  (West) Suicide Support: TEL 0141-951-6234.
  • Scottish Domestic Abuse Helpline: TEL 0800 027 1234. Available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The helpline volunteers are all women and can put people in touch with local services like Women's Aid or Housing Departments. The volunteers have all received specialist training.
  • Men's Advice Line: TEL 0808 801 0327. This helpline provides a range of services aimed primarily at men experiencing domestic abuse from their partner, although the service also receives calls from men who are concerned, or have had concerns, about their own abusive behaviour towards their partners and/or children.
