There are 3 different kinds of appointment with a careers adviser:
1. Quick Coaching Appointments - 15 minutes
Venue: Interview Room 236, Near Student Enquiry Desk
Available: Monday - Friday - from 12.00pm - 2.00pm.
These are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day only. A short 15-minute appointment is a great way to get immediate help with simple questions or CV and application form checks. They're held in interview room 236, near the Student Enquiry Desk.
Please note that for quick coaching appointments you will only be able to book on the day of the appointment from 07:00 - 11:45 hrs.
At busy times of the year, such as September to December, these can fill up very quickly. If all the appointment times are booked, please try again the next day. We appreciate your patience!
If you want help with your CV, please use our web site CV help before your appointment.
2. Careers Interviews - 20 minutes
• Select Careers Interview with a Careers Adviser
• Select an available time slot.
Venue: Interview pods beside the main welcome desk on floor 2.
Available: Monday – Friday 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00
These 20-minute appointments provide an opportunity for a more in depth discussion about your career plans. Your interview will be impartial, focussed on your own individual needs and completely confidential. You should not have to wait for more than three weeks for an appointment.
3. Mock Interviews - 40 minutes
All Undergraduates and Taught Postgraduates MUST come to the Student Enquiry Desk on Level 2 of the Fraser Building to request a Mock Interview. These appointments can't be made over the phone or by e-mail.
Venue: Interview pods beside the main welcome desk on floor 2.
Available: Monday – Friday 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00
A Mock Interview lasts for 40 minutes, and is a great way to prepare for the real thing. If you’re coming for a Mock Interview please ensure you provide your Careers Adviser with a job description and your application or CV. You can hand this in to the Student Services Enquiry Desk or email to the Careers Adviser. You must do this at least three working days before your appointment, so that your Adviser can prepare properly.
