Online Job Search and Career Planning Seminars for International Students
The University of Glasgow's Careers Service has developed a series of online job search and career planning seminars aimed specifically at international students. The seminars are designed to raise students’ awareness of, and improve their skills in, UK graduate job search, creating effective CVs and covering letters, completing online application forms and competing in job interviews. The seminars can be accessed in two different ways: via a Moodle site or as a PDF file. AGACS Scotland Working In Scotland Seminars
The Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Service (AGCAS) Scotland has with money from the Scottish Executive Fresh Talent Initiative Challenge Fund developed another series of online careers seminars aimed at International Students intending to study and work in Scotland. The seminars in the series cover the following areas:

  • How do I find out about jobs? Intended to increase understanding of the Scottish labour market - the main industries, occupations and skills demands as well as recommending resources you can use to carry out your own research.
  • How do I find out about work? Featuring advice on how to identify where to look for jobs - everything from part-time jobs whilst studying, to work placements and voluntary opportunities as well as graduate jobs.
  • Getting a job offer - focussing on producing effective applications including - CV, application, interviewing and other skills - to be prepared and successful in your job hunting.
  • Working and living in Scotland.
