How can Club 21 help you?

“Club 21 provides a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in one of a host of companies. A Club 21 placement gives you a chance to apply and develop your skills in a practical setting. Not only does a placement look good on your CV to potential employers,, but it is also a challenging, stimulating, and thoroughly worthwhile experience.”
Derek Murray, 4th yr Computing Science

The Club 21 Business Partnership Programme is an exciting and successful partnership between the University of Glasgow and prestigious charities and companies within the business community. Our purpose is to provide students with the opportunity to gain work experience that will allow you to develop the skills that employers view as important. This will give you the edge when it comes to applying for graduate jobs in what is an increasingly competitive graduate labour market.

Club 21 provides a variety of placements, from part-time term-time opportunities to structured 8-12 week summer placements, within a wide range of sectors and organisations. In the majority of cases, students will be asked to undertake a project for the host organisation. This project will utilise the skills and experience that the student already has and will help them to develop new skills. It is also expected that the project will benefit the organisation. The majority of Club 21 placements are paid and Club 21 students may expect to be placed locally, nationally or internationally (for this reason, flexibility in terms of location is helpful). In addition to offering a paid placement, some Club 21 companies are also able to provide a £1000 scholarship (p lease note that if you are awarded a placement and scholarship and do not complete your placement, you will be asked to repay the scholarship in full).

If this sounds good, you will probably want to read on to find out how to go about applying. Please visit the Current Club 21 Placement Opportunities and How to Apply pages for more information.
