Help with your application

Application forms are usually designed to elicit particular information in a way that allows the recruiter to select candidates efficiently. The application form must be filled in with due care, thought and preliminary research. Visit the Careers Information Centre (this can be found to the right of the Student Services Enquiry Desk on Level 2 of the Fraser Building) for information on your chosen organisation, and always take the time to browse the organisation's website for further information (you can access the external websites of all Club 21 members by going to Current Club 21 Employers and clicking on the name of the relevant organisation) . Students with little or no experience of such forms should seek the advice of a Careers Advisor, having drafted responses to each question on a photocopy of the form. Please also remember to refer to the Club 21 Guidance Notes and Club 21's The Personal Statement- Getting it Right guide to assist you when you complete your form.

If you would like to see a Careers Advisor, please make an appointment at the Student Services Enquiry Desk in the Fraser Building (you may call in in person or alternatively telephone 0141 330 7000 to make an appointment) for a confidential discussion. You will be required to book an appointment in advance and to provide information on your reasons for seeking an appointment. Please note that appointments are not available on Tuesday mornings due to staff training. You can also attend some of the career planning seminars provided by the Careers Service.

You can also visit the Careers Service Website for relevant and accurate information on application forms, CVs and interview techniques, and for further information on the types of advice and guidance provided by the service.
