With the ever-growing number of people graduating from university, there will be more competition for good graduate jobs. Simply having a degree is one thing. Giving yourself that competitive edge over other candidates for the job is another. This is where Club 21 comes in.

Club 21 offers a wide range of work experience opportunities for University of Glasgow student. Club 21 have worked hard to associate themselves with top companies such as Ernst and Young, KPMG, T-Mobile and Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd (with whom I completed a summer placement). Club 21 offers the chance to gain invaluable experience with these companies and others like them.

My experience with Arnold Clark allowed me to gain a further understanding of the 'real world', which we students have put off for at least four years! I worked in the Systems Audit Department, which meant I was involved in running reports and assessing the extracted results. Having been trained in how to comment and suggest an appropriate 'fix' for the results, I would then submit my findings to the Franchise Accountant, who would in turn give me feedback.

I can only speak highly of my experience with Club 21. They kept me well inforemd at all stages and gave me a chance to gain the competitive edge that comes from working for Europe's largest independent car retailer. This can only be advantageous when I am applying for graduate jobs.
