Preparing for Your Careers Interview
- Think about why you made the appointment and what you would like to talk about. Feel free to write all your thoughts down and bring it with you. If you’re bamboozled by career decision making, get some help here.
- Bring any paper information you want us to look at: CV, Application Form, Job Description or anything else you think is relevant. You can leave your cycling proficiency certificate at home!
- If you’re coming for a Mock Interview please ensure you provide your Careers Adviser with a job description and your application or CV. You can hand this in to the Student Services Enquiry Desk or email to the Careers Adviser. You must do this at least three working days before your appointment, so that your Adviser can prepare properly. All Undergraduates and Taught Postgraduates MUST come to the Student Enquiry Desk on Level 2 of the Fraser Building to request a Mock Interview. This doesn't apply to Research Students and Research Staff.
- When you come for your appointment you don’t need to report to the Student Services Enquiry Desk. Have a seat in the signposted “Interview Room Waiting Area” and your Careers Adviser will call you when they’re ready.
- Don’t worry! If you haven’t got a career plan and feel that your ideas are at best vague or even non-existent, we’ll be able to help you establish a starting point. Don’t put it off any longer!
