Science Fair 2010, Wednesday 17 November, 1130 - 1430, Hunter Halls

The Science fair is an information, networking and recruitment fair dedicated to the science sector and FREE for you to attend.  Open to all undergraduates and postgraduates from the University of Glasgow who are looking for a career in science.  Here's a chance to meet employers within the science field and find out about different companies, their jobs and other opportunities such as work experience. Chem Careers, 15-19 November

An online event featuring employees from over 30 top firms.  ChemCareers will allow you to:- Discover the huge range of career opportunities available in chemical science - Learn how to market yourself to an employer - Seek expert advice on career planning and your next move - Investigate further study options - Network globally with employers and other chemical scientists. Please register for the event.

The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) will be running its annual marketing Summer School from 27 June to 1 July.  The School provides an introduction to all aspects of the direct, data and digital marketing profession and is free to attend.  Twenty five graduates who have passed an assessment day will be selected to see how an agency works, take part in group work on a real live case study and networking with influential contacts for recruitment purposes.  To apply complete the application form. Vacancies

BBC Work Experience Opportunities.  The BBC participates in the Cultural Diversity Network (CDN) which seeks to change broadcasting by more accurately reflecting our multicultural society. Audio & Music are offering work experience in different departments.

Study China Programme - Easter 2011.   Funded places available on the Study China Programme.  Open to full-time undergraduate students. Successful candidates will be learning Chinese language, attending lectures on Chinese culture, society, history and economy and visiting local businesses. Work with host universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Hangzhou and Nanjing .  Programmes run every summer and Easter for three weeks with a choice of two locations each time.  Closing date: 23 December 2010.

Student Volunteering Opportunities in South America and Africa Opportunity to join Quest Overseas on summer community projects in Peru and Malawi.  Project teams departing in July 2011.

TalentScotland Graduate Placement Programme Open to all graduates who:

  • Have graduated at degree or postgraduate level from a Higher Education Institution within the past two years (international graduates from non EU countries must have graduated from a Scottish Higher Education Institution within the past two years)
  • Have up to date visa documentation if required (international graduates only)
  • Have good English language skills appropriate to a business environment
  • Have no more than one year's relevant (graduate level) work experience
