Whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate or alumnus who has graduated within the last 2 years, we are here to help.
We offer a range of appointments to suit your individual needs – see below for details.
You can make an appointment online. For online appointments you must:
- Log in or register at www.glas.prospects.ac.uk
- Click on “Search Events”
- Select "appointment"
- Select and book the appropriate appointment type
If you can't make an appointment online, then you canvisit the Student Services Enquiry Team on Level 2 of the Fraser Building.
All interview appointments are held in the confidential meeting pods on Level 2 of the Fraser Building.
Quick Coaching appointments
- 15 minute slots, available Monday to Friday, 1200 - 1400
- Interview Room 236, near the Student Services Enquiry Team on Level 2
Quick coaching appointments are short, 15 minute appointments made available at the beginning of every day on a first-come, first-served basis. They are a great way to get immediate help with simple questions or CV and application form checks.
Quick coaching slots are only available for booking on the day. Booking starts at 09:00 and is available until 1145 through our online booking system.
Please note: Quick coaching appointments fill up very quickly at busy times of the year (particularly September and December). If all the appointment times are booked, please try again the next day. We appreciate your patience!
Short Careers Interviews
- 20 minute slots, available Monday to Friday 1000 – 1200 and 1400 – 1600
- Interview Rooms 231, 232 & 233near theLevel 2 entrance
These 20 minute appointments provide an opportunity for an initial discussion about your career plans, help with simple questions or CV/application form checking. Your interview will be impartial, confidential and focused on your individual needs.
You should not have to wait for more than three weeks for an appointment, although waiting times can vary at busier times of year.
Long Careers Interviews
Not bookable online!
- 40 minute slots, available Monday to Friday 1000 – 1200 and 1400 – 1600
Longer interviews are ideal for discussing your careers plans in more depth and for help with more substantial, complex issues. Your interview will be impartial, confidential and focused on your individual needs.
Your can have a Long Careers Interview if recommended by your Careers Adviser after a short Careers Interview.
Mock Interviews
Not bookable online!
- 40 minute slots, available Monday to Friday 1000 – 1200 and 1400 – 1600
- Interview Rooms 231, 232 & 233 near theLevel 2 entrance
Mock interviews are a great way to prepare for the real thing. Your Careers Adviser will take you through a realistic interview scenario and provide feedback on your answers to help you to perform when it matters most.
We want your mock interview to be as realistic and useful as possible. As such, we ask you to submit a relevant job description and your CV/application form at least three working days in advance of your appointment. You can email these documents directly to the relevant Careers Adviser or hand in paper copies to the Student Services Enquiry Team.
Please note: Your Careers Adviser can arrange this for you at a Careers Interview. You can also arrange one by visiting the Student Services Enquiry Team on Level 2 of the Fraser Building.
Consultations for Research Students/Staff
- 40 minute slots, available Monday to Friday 1000 – 1200 and 1400 – 1600
We offer a dedicated advisory service for postgraduate research students and research staff. To arrange a confidential consultation, follow the instructions above and select ‘ researchers careers interviews with Katrina Gardner’
1. Think about why you made the appointment and what you would like to talk about. Write down your thoughts and bring them with you.
2. Bring any paper information you would like us to look at: CV, Application Form, Job Description or anything else you think is relevant.
3. If this is your first interview, get one step ahead and work through some options and ideas on our: Making decisions page.
4. If you are coming for a Mock Interview, please ensure you provide your Careers Adviser with a copy of all relevant information. You can hand this in to the Student Services Enquiry team or email the Careers Adviser. Please do this at least three working days before your appointment, so that your Adviser can prepare properly.
Mock Interviews can be arranged by discussion with a Careers Adviser during a Careers Interview or you can book through the Student Services Enquiry Team.
5. On a day of your appointment report in the signposted “Interview Room Waiting Area” on Level 2 of the Fraser Building. Your Careers adviser will call you when they are ready.
6. Do not worry! If you do not have a career plan we will be able to help you establish a starting point.
