Information for Students
Tuesday 8th February, 1100 - 1400, Hunter Halls, University of Glasgow
Why should I attend?
Skills for Work: Engineering & technology is open to undergraduates & postgraduates at the University of Glasgow who are looking for a career in the engineering & technology sector.
Key employers from the engineering & technology sector are invited to exhibit and network over a buffet lunch with students, like yourself, who are interested in working in this field. In addition to the Exhibitor Fair there will be a range of employer-hosted skills-based workshops taking place during the day.
View the exhibitor list. There might be an employer exhibiting with vacancies you didn’t realise matched your skills and qualifications!
Read up on the companies attending and what opportunities they have. Think of the questions you want to ask or topics you want to discuss with the exhibitors.
Attend a workshop. Sign-up for workshops will take place on arrival at the fair.
Pre-registration for Skills for Work: Engineering & Technology is required. Information will follow in December.
Create or develop an existing CV using the Careers Service. Bring it along on the day to hand out to employers.
Key Things to do:
• Get a name! It helps you immensely with your follow up and if you have any further questions.
• If you want to apply make sure you know what to do now, where to get an application form and any deadlines you have to meet.
• Enjoy the day!
If you are interested in working in the engineering sector, this is an event not to be missed.
