Information for Students

Tuesday 11th October 2011
1030 - 1430, Hunter Halls, University of Glasgow

Why should I attend?
The Internship Fair will provide opportunities - in the UK and abroad – ranging from working in a children’s summer camp in the USA, volunteering in Sri Lanka or a placement in a leading professional services company.

It's on campus!

View the exhibitor list. Internships, voluntary posts and gap year placements not only bolster your CV but provide a fantastic platform to actively participate in practical work-based opportunities.  They can help you discover if the career you are considering is right (or wrong) for you.

Download the Intership Fair Brochure 2011 - read up on the companies attending and what opportunities they have. Think of the questions you want to ask or topics you want to discuss with the exhibitors. A brochure will be available for download approximately two weeks prior to the fair.

Questions you might want to ask are:
• How long is the placement?
• Will I have to relocate?
• How do you support new staff?

Create or develop an existing CV using the Careers Service. Bring it along on the day to hand out to employers.

Key Things to do:
• Get a name! It helps you immensely with your follow up and if you have any further questions.
• If you want to apply make sure you know what to do now, where to get an application form and any deadlines you have to meet.
• Enjoy the day!

There is no need to register prior to the fair.
