Friday 3rd April 2009, GUAS Seminar Room, 13 Thurso Street, Glasgow

The Scottish Brewing Archive and Scottish Brewing Archive Association recently hosted a successful open day at Archive Services reflecting on recent changes in the Scottish brewing industry.

Brian Eaton, Senior Teaching Fellow at Heriot-Watt’s International Centre for Brewing & Distilling, delivered a lively and interesting talk on the developments he has witnessed in brewing during his career in the industry.  Whilst the trend has been for the expansion of larger brewers, Brian sees a future for small, independent brewers in Scotland.

Brian‘s talk was complemented by a display of archives and memorabilia from the brewing archive collections and a range of beers for sampling.  Thanks to all the Archive Services staff and Scottish Brewing Archive Association members who helped to bring the display together and who were on hand to welcome visitors and serve refreshments.
