Official opening of our new public searchroom by the Principal, Anton Muscatelli, took place on the 14th June.

May 2010

Lesley Richmond attended an exhibition held by University of Glasgow Research and Enterprise which included some of our Japanese posters. Over 60 business people attended. Our posters were received well.

The Scottish Brewing Archive Open day took place on Friday 28th May.

Aberdeen

April 2010

David Powell, the Business Archive Council of Scotland Surveying Officer, was in Aberdeen for the Capturing the Energy seminar and reception. The seminar was an opportunity for information professionals in the oil and gas industry to catch up on the Capturing the Energy project. David presented on the scoping survey he completed, and George Mackenzie presented on the forthcoming business archives strategy for Scotland. A few speakers from Scandinavia had to drop out due to the flight restrictions, but presentations were delivered on their behalf.

Japan

February 2010

Lesley Richmond went to Japan in February on a cultural asset visit. She will be visiting the Japanese National Archives, along with other archives and will give talks to University and business archivists.
