Glasgow University Women's Club (London)

Aims of GUWC

The aim of the club is to provide a varied social programme of interest to women graduates and alumni of Glasgow University, resident in London and the South East.

The Club, which is non-denominational, spans a wide age range with many professions represented and meets six times a year.

The President’s Tea, held in a variety of venues, starts off the New Year.  Our Spring and Autumn Lunches are held in St Columba’s Church Hall, Pont Street, SW1, often with a guest speaker.

In addition, our programme has visits to places of interest in and around London, such as the Inns of Court & Royal Courts of Justice, William Morris’s Red House at Bexleyheath, the Hindu Temple at Neasden, Bletchley Park, British Library, Osterley Park and Eton College.  In the past we have held ceilidhs and a Burns’ Supper and lunch at the House of Lords.  Please see below for the programme of events 2009/10.

Guests and partners can be invited to some of these occasions and are especially welcome at our Annual Lunch or Dinner.

The annual subscription is £10

For more information on how to join, please contact the Membership Secretary: Marion Craig, 61 New Road, Welwyn, AL6 0AL, marion.craig@lineone.net
