The main campus of the University of Glasgow (Gilmorehill campus) is located in the west end of Glasgow, 3 miles from the city centre. It can be easily accessed via the subway (Hillhead stop) or one of the local buses.
Eating on campus
Visitors to the University are welcome to sample a wide range of refreshments in the following catering outlets. The University of Glasgow has been voted one of the most ‘vegetarian and vegan friendly’ in the country.

Attractions on campus
The main campus hosts a number of attractions:
Hunterian Museum
The University’s Hunterian Museum is Scotland’s oldest public museum. Located in the Main Building, it is home to a rich collection of rare and important objects. Displays include Scottish mineral treasures, dinosaurs, fossils and world culture. Bio-diversity, evolution and animal architecture also feature, along with permanent exhibitions dedicated to the Romans in Scotland, Hunterian founder Dr William Hunter, Lord Kelvin and the history of medicine in Glasgow.
Hunterian Art Gallery
The Hunterian Art Gallery, next to the University Library, has a wide range of outstanding works on show. Masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Chardin, Whistler and Stubbs sit alongside major examples of Scottish art including the Scottish Colourists and Glasgow Boys.
The Mackintosh House
The Hunterian Art Gallery is home to the largest single holding of the work of Scottish artist, architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and The Mackintosh House, the reassembled principal interiors from his Glasgow home.
