I work where nuclear and particle physics meet: in hadron physics. My main research interest is the structure of
hadrons, in particular the spin structure of the proton.
I am a member of the experiments HERMES and OLYMPUS at DESY, PANDA at FAIR/GSI and CLAS at JeffersonLab.
In recent years I have also developed a strong interest in applied nuclear physics, in particular in collaboration with the National Nuclear Laboratory and in the preparatory work for SCAPA, the Scottish Centre for the Application of Plasma-based Accelerators in Glasgow.
I am very involved in the EU Framework Programme 7, where I am the Chair of the Collaboration Committee of the HadronPhysics2 Integrating Activity and Spokesperson of a Joint Research Activity on Hard Exclusive Reactions.
