Modern Foreign Language Courses & Applications
The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Unit aims to make foreign languages accessible and enjoyable to everyone. Our mission is to promote, encourage and support the learning of languages for academic, personal and professional purposes.
Our Courses (Languages @ Lunchtime, Early Evening , Survival Skills and Summer Courses), some of which are credit bearing, are open to everybody, including members of staff at the University and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
We specialise in teaching languages to a wide spectrum of adult learners and we offer:
- Tuition in a wide range of languages, from Beginners to Advanced level
- A language programme which is of the highest academic standard and fulfils the needs and expectations of our students
- Rewarding courses and first-class customer service which understand our students’ needs and meet the demand of our present and future students
- Qualified, committed and experienced tutors, usually native speakers
- A functional approach to language learning and the employment of communicative methodologies
- The chance to explore another language and culture and to enhance both your personal and professional skills
Our Translation and Interpreting Department provides a range of services which are tailored to individual client requirements.
The MFL Unit can also offer customised courses for Professional and Specific Purposes.
