IELTS: International English Language Testing System
We are an examination centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This is an internationally recognised test of English for general and academic purposes. Tests take place one Saturday every month on fixed dates worldwide.
The test gives separate scores for Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking, as well as an overall score. It is recognised by universities and employers in many countries including, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also recognised by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. Further information on the test, including sample questions and the application form, can be found on the IELTS website (see Links) and if you are a member, you can borrow practice material from the Language Centre Library.

Tests in this centre are held each month on a Saturday on test dates fixed worldwide. Dates are provided well in advance.

Application form: download the IELTS application form and post it to us.
Your application form must be fully completed and include:
- two passport sized photographs, without glassses and not more than 6 months old
- a photocopy of your identification documents (e.g. your passport) including the page with your photo and the page with your signature
- the fee payable to 'IELTS Glasgow': please do not send cash (for further information see under Fees)
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Incomplete application forms will not be accepted and will be returned.
- If you are using the test to apply for higher education study, you must choose the Academic Module.
- No change of date or refund will normally be considered except in the case of illness for which a medical certificate is required so please choose your test date carefully.

Payment must be made with your application form. We accept cheques or postal orders (but not credit cards); these should be made payable to 'IELTS Glasgow'.

Your Test Results
Your results will be posted to you 13 days after the exam.
Copies of the results can be sent by us to an institution of your choice (e.g. if you applying to a University) if you indicate this clearly on the application form.
Results are normally valid for 2 years from the date of the test.
