Reader in Rehabilitation

Dr Lorna Paul trained as a physiotherapist at the Queens College in Glasgow (1985-88) and worked clinically for a few years before taking up her first Lecturing post. She was appointed as the Reader within the Division of Nursing and Health Care in May 2007.

Dr Paul’s research involves evaluating the effectiveness of rehabilitation strategies in a variety of patient groups such as multiple sclerosis, diabetes, breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. Exploring the impact of exercise and physical activity on the health and well being of clinical populations is a particular focus as is the use of technology to optimise rehabilitation outcomes.

Research studies also investigate the science which underpins the therapeutic approaches to rehabilitation and others which help in the understanding of symptoms such as pain and fatigue.
