Dr Jilly Hamilton trained in St Andrews and Manchester and then moved back to Glasgow. She worked in various hospital jobs and for a number of years in paediatrics before becoming a GP.

She was a higher professional fellow in general practice, and is completing a Masters in Medical Education. She rejoined the unit in 2007 and is now deputy co-ordinator of the Year 4/5 GP attachment to Andrea Williamson. She also teaches Year 4/5 students in practice.

Research interests include the effect of increasing student numbers on general practice.

Outside of the university, Jilly is a partner at Bishopton Health Centre.
