Dr Duncan Lee awarded EPSRC grant

Tuesday 27th March, 2012

Dr Duncan Lee was awarded an EPSRC grant for developing a rigorous statistical framework for estimating the long-term health effects of air pollution. This is part of a three-year collaborative project with Dr Sujit Sahu (School of Mathematics, University of Southampton School).

The researchers at the University of Glasgow are Dr Lee (PI, School of Mathematics and Statistics) and Prof Mitchell (CI, Institute of Health and Wellbeing), who will supervise a research assistant for the three-year duration of the project. The project aims to develop statistical methodology for modelling spatio-temporal areal unit data using Markov random field models, in the context of a collaborative project investigating the long-term effects of air pollution on human health.
