Maths at The Scottish Open

Wednesday 10th August, 2016

Pupils from Ardersier and Balloch primary schools created sums and number puzzles to print on the 18 pin flags on the Scottish Open golf course as part of a campaign to encourage greater enthusiasm among children for maths. The novel challenge was created by Scottish Open sponsors Aberdeen Asset Management along with VisitScotland and the Scottish Government’s Making Maths Count group, of which the School’s own, Professor Tara Brendle, is a member.

Featured in a number of press bulletins, the challenge even made it into US national newspaper USA Today, which you can view here USA Today.
