Abstract
The affine nilTemperley-Lieb algebra acts very naturally on fermionic particle configurations on a circle. We study this action and obtain a description of the centre of the algebra. Furthermore, we describe a normal form algorithm for monomials that is motivated by the combinatorics of the action. This is joint work with Georgia Benkart.
