Abstract

Classical Tannaka-Krein duality asserts that every rigid symmetric C*-tensor category with a fiber functor is the category of finite-dimensional representations of a compact group. Woronowicz showed that dropping the symmetry assumption amounts to passing to compact quantum groups. In this talk, we look at the case where the fiber functor takes values in bigraded Hilbert spaces instead of ordinary ones, discuss the corresponding notion of a partial compact quantum group, and consider examples related to the dynamical quantum group SU_q(2).
