Abstract

The quantum world is a mysterious and in many ways counterintuitive one.  I shall illustrate this with five conceptual questions and some surprising answers:

1.  do photons interfere with each other?

2.  what can we measure?

3.  what can we know?

4. if a tree falls in a forest and there is nobody to hear it, does it make a noise?

5. Are energy and momentum always conserved?
