Vanishing of the first continuous L^2-cohomology for II_1 factors

Abstract
I will present a recent joint work with Sorin Popa in which we prove that the continuous version of the Connes-Shlyakhtenko first L^2-cohomology
for II_1 factors, as proposed by Andreas Thom, always vanishes.
