Abstract
Dehn Twists are particular self-homeomorphisms of an oriented surface. They preserve the orientation and fix the boundary of the surface pointwise. We can think of Dehn twists as elements of the mapping class group, and it turns out they are generators for this group. In this talk we will define Dehn Twists and prove some important properties
