ODEs from the algebraic point of view

Abstract
In this talk I shall try to explain how an algebraist approaches the study of ordinary differential equations and their solutions (formally, the theory of D-modules). This point of view has been extremely useful in solving problems about classical ODEs and proving conjectures in representation theory.
