Massey products and class field towers

Abstract
It is in general very hard to determine if a given number field K has finite or infinite class field tower or if the étale fundamental group of the spectrum of the ring of integers of K is finite or infinite. In this talk I will present some joint work with Magnus Carlson where we give formulas for Massey products in étale cohomology in order to tackle these questions.
