A tale of fluids and solids on the small and large scales

Abstract

In this talk, I will walk you through a general overview of a number of research areas of interest to me. These involve the dynamics of fluids and solids, and their interactions, in various industrial, geophysical and environmental settings. These range from the large-scale dynamics of ice sheets and subglacial processes, to the small-scale fluid dynamics (and phase change) of additive manufacturing or 3D printing, as well as a number of other problems involving viscous fluids and solids in general.
