Abstract

For G a nilpotent, uniform pro-p group, K a p-adic field, the Iwasawa algebra KG of continuous K-distributions of G is essential for the study of continuous K-representations of G, and we will explore techniques for studying and classifying the primitive ideals in KG. To this end we will study p-adic completions of universal enveloping algebras, develop a representation theory for these rings, and explore how we can use it to study the representation theory of KG, via the canonical Z_p Lie algebra of G.
