Anatomy

The Laboratory's research interests cover most of the sub-divisions of Anatomy, with particular strengths in neuroscience, embryology and development, and in clinically-related gross morphology. Current research interests include:

Collaborations and grants

A number of our projects involve collaboration with other groups in Glasgow (including Medicine & Therapeutics, Physiology, Pharmacology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Rheumatology, Neuropathology, Pathology) in the rest of the UK (including Department of Physiological Sciences, Medical School, Newcastle upon Tyne and the MRC Neurochemical Pathology Unit, Newcastle General Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, Dept. Human Anatomy, Oxford, Dept. Physiology, University of Wales, College of Cardiff, Wales) and overseas (including the Department of Neuropathology, University of Pennsylvania, Institute for Toxicology and Pharmacology, Dresden, Dept. Morphology and Cell Biology, Oviedo, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, Department of Anatomy, University of Oslo, Norway).

This is an attractive feature of our research programme which helps to foster a multidisciplinary approach. During the last few years, many of these projects have attracted external funding from NIH, MRC, the Wellcome Trust and the Scottish Home & Health Department, as well as from a variety of charitable organisations.
