Gavin joined the School of Law in 2001, having previously been a lecturer in law at the University of Warwick.  He undertook his first degree at the University of Glasgow, and pursued graduate studies at Osgoode Hall Law School and the University of Toronto (where my doctoral thesis was awarded the Alan Marks Medal in 2002).  He has been a visiting fellow at the Centre for Comparative Constitutional Studies at the University of Melbourne, and in 2003/4 was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, Florence.

Research Interests

Comparative constitutional law and theory. Globalization. Legal pluralism.
