Legal History at Glasgow

The School of Law is delighted to welcome Dr Jiang Junzhou, who is spending 2016 in Glasgow as a Visiting Scholar. He is an Associate Professor of Law in the School of Law at the Henan University of Technology, in Henan Province, China. He completed a PhD in Roman and Modern Civil Law at Xiamen University in 2009, with a dissertation on the classification of real contracts in Roman law and its development in the civil law system. His dissertation, On Real Contracts, was published by Law Press China in 2015; his translation of the Civil Code of the Philippines into Chinese was published by Xiamen University Press in 2011. During his year in Glasgow, supported by the China Scholarship Council, he will be researching charitable giving in late Roman law and its legacy in modern civilian and mixed legal systems. The School of Law is delighted to welcome Dr Jiang.
