The Journal of Legal History

Mark Godfrey, Professor of Legal History, became Editor of The Journal of Legal History in 2011. This was in succession to Dr Neil Jones of Magdalene College, Cambridge, who has become Literary Director of the Selden Society. The Journal of Legal History was established in 1980 and is dedicated to publication on the sources and development of the common law, both in the British Isles and overseas, on the history of the laws of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, and on Roman Law and the European legal tradition. It is the leading European journal in the field published in English, and carries articles, notes, book reviews, and conference reports. Prof Godfrey has served on the Editorial Committee since 2004. Glasgow colleague and Regius Professor of Law Emeritus, David M Walker, CBE, QC, FBA, FRSE, also remains a member of the Honorary Editorial Board of the Journal.
