International Law as a Profession: Dr Djurabek Aripov

Djurabek Aripov works for the United Nations, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and he is based in Geneva, Switzerland. Djurabek processes individual complaints and drafts decisions based on individual submissions, particularly in Russian language. Having graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, faculty of international law (Bachelor’s degree), and the University of Connecticut School of Law (Master’s degree), Djurabek holds licences to practice law both in Uzbekistan and in the United States. In the United States, he worked as a criminal defence attorney in federal and state courts. Prior to joining OHCHR, Djurabek also worked for the UNDP, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and World Bank, among others.
