You will have received information from the University which will allow you to formally register as a student and select classes. In order to proceed to enrolment you will first need to complete the Academic and Financial Registration processes using MyCampus.
Full details of the Registration process, including more details about fee sponsorship, can be found here: www.glasgow.ac.uk/registry/students/registration
This is the first year in which the University is using the new enrolment system. If you encounter any problems you should contact mycampushelp@glasgow.ac.uk
MyCampus
Access MyCampus through the student portal, MyGlasgow, from the current students’ webpage or direct at www.glasgow.ac.uk/students/myglasgow, or from the link in the foot of most University webpages. Login to MyGlasgow using your Glasgow Unique Identifier (GUID) and password (new students will have received this information in their “Access to your Student Account” email).
Throughout the year you will access MyCampus to see your class and exam timetables, record any absences you may have, amend your enrolments during the add/drop period or check assignments and your grades.
Enrolment
All undergraduate students will enrol using My Requirements. Full-time students are expected to enrol on 120 credits of courses. Part-time and non-graduating students should enrol on the number of courses that they wish to study in 2011-12.
Full course information will be available in the Course Catalogue within MyCampus.
If you have any queries during the enrolment process, go to Help & Support on your MyGlasgow portal at www.glasgow.ac.uk/students/myglasgow
Enrol by My Requirements
MyCampus provides guidance to help you select a suitable curriculum for your Academic Level and Academic Plan. The My Requirements tab describes overall course, grade and credit requirements.
Please note:
- If you want to change your Academic Plan you must contact your Adviser of Studies before enrolling on courses, as your requirements may be different. You can do this by clicking the My Academics tab on MyCampus, following the link to View my advisors. This will enable you to email your Adviser of Studies for assistance.
- You are responsible for selecting an appropriate curriculum in accordance with My Requirements and completing enrolment.
- Places in classes will be available on a first-come-first served basis so early enrolment is recommended.
- To ensure that you enrol on appropriate courses select My Requirements and click on Search. This will show you a detailed list of the course enrolments required to successfully complete the year on your chosen Plan. Select the courses into which you wish to enrol. You will then select the classes you wish to attend (e.g. tutorials, lab sessions). Note: when you open the course list the options will be displayed alphabetically, 10 at a time. You can select ‘view all’ at the bottom of this list to see all the courses available.
- It is possible to switch class sections or drop/swap courses after you have enrolled up until 30 September 2011.
- Your timetable will be automatically created in MyCampus when you enrol on classes and updated if you change enrolments. Find your timetable in the Enroll tab or directly from your Student Centre.
Support and guidance is available online which can show you how to navigate the enrolment process in MyCampus. This support and guidance material can be found at your MyGlasgow portal at www.glasgow.ac.uk/students/myglasgow
Switch class sections
After you have enrolled in classes you are still able to make minor changes. MyCampus allows you to switch class sections, if your timetable will permit. This may mean moving the day or time of your class section (e.g. tutorial, lab, seminar). Make these changes by selecting Switch a Class section.
Swap a course
After you have completed enrolment you may still be able to change some of your course choices. You can do this by using the Swap a Course option in the Enroll tab until the end of the Add/Drop period on 30 September 2011. You should have a curriculum which meets your requirements so, if you swap a course, be careful to check that the alternative course is suitable.
Drop courses
If you wish to drop a course without selecting a replacement you can do this by selecting ‘Drop Courses’ in the Enroll tab until the end of the Add/Drop period on 30 September 2011. You must be enrolled for the correct number of credits for the year so if you drop a course you should ensure your overall curriculum meets your requirements.
My timetable
Your timetable will be automatically created in MyCampus when you enrol on classes. If you change any of your enrolments or the times/dates of your classes change, your timetable will be updated. Your timetable will show the class, the type of class and the location of the class. Find your timetable in the Enroll tab or directly from your Student Centre.
