Research in Philosophy

Philosophy has a vibrant research culture. Subject area life focuses around three regular events:

  • the weekly Senior Seminar where eminent philosophers from the UK and beyond present their research and receive critical feedback
  • the weekly Postgraduate Seminar where our graduate students present their work to their peers and to staff and received help with their research
  • the staff work in progress seminar where our Faculty present their work in progress and receive constructive criticism.

In addition, numerous reading groups, workshops, conferences and research projects take place throughout the year. Faculty and graduate students present their research at workshops and conferences all over the world and publish monographs, edited collections, and papers in a wide range of the very best philosophy journals.
