The Scottish Centre for War Studies brings together a wide range of scholars with an interest in the study of war in all its various aspects. The Centre has offered a taught Masters degree in War Studies since 2004. This is a one-year MLitt degree comprising a core course, a wide range of optional modules, from medieval to late modern, and a 15,000-word dissertation. The MLitt can be taken on a full or part-time basis.
Since its founding in 1995, the centre has run more than ten major conferences, sponsored almost 100 seminar talks and seen the publication of a number of important works. The Centre hosts at least four research seminars every term. These bring leading scholars in war studies to Glasgow and highlight the research of our own staff and students.
