Developing adaptation and mitigation strategies to minimise the impact of climate change on the conservation interests of Scotland's standing freshwaters

I am currently doing research (at the Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience at the University of Dundee, funded by SNH & SEPA) looking at the potential effects of climate change on the ecohydrology of Scotland's lochs. This three year project aims to produce adaptation strategies to minimise the impact of these changes on species of conservation interest. I am interested in how climate change will affect the hydrology, and subsequently, ecology of standing freshwater in Scotland, an issue which has profound implications for the management of these habitats.
