Biography

I was awarded a BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering from UMIST. I continued on from my final year individual project to do a PhD in Compressible Fluid Dynamics at The University of Manchester. I then took the role of Knowledge Transfer Fellow at the same university, working on short term industry-led projects examining a broad range of experimental fluid dynamic phenomena, both compressible and incompressible. I joined Glasgow University as an Assistant Professor in 2013, and am currently an Associate Professor in Aerospace Sciences.

I am a Visiting Professor at Emirates Aviation University, Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society Academic Accreditation Committee, Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society Individual Assessment Panel, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), Senior Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Editorial Board Member of the Aerospace Journal. Member of the Royal Society's COVID-19 Air Flows and Aerosols RAMP committee, Member of EPSRC National Fellowships in Fluid Dynamics Prioritisation Panel, Member of AIAA Aplied Aerodynamics Technical Committee (APATC), Expert Panel Member for UKRI Early Career Researcher International Collaboration Grants.
