Dr Gianmarco Radice

Research interests

Biography

Gianmarco graduated with a first class M.Eng degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 1996 and completed his doctoral studies in space systems engineering at the University of Glasgow in 2000. He was then a research assistant on the Phase 2 study of the Improved Mission Autonomy and Robustness (IMAR) funded by the British National Space Centre. In 2003 he was appointed to a permanent lectureship position in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Glasgow. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2006 and to Reader in 2010.

Research Interests

Research activities have been centred mainly on space systems engineering including Near Earth Objects (NEO) deflection technologies, novel control approaches to spacecraft  formation flying, attitude control of flexible spacecraft, autonomous architectures for future space missions, mission analysis and design of solar power satellites and development of tools to support the concurrent engineering design process for space missions.
