The Electronics Design Centre is based in the School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow.

Mission statement

Our mission is to deliver high quality research and teaching in Electronics Design that meets the needs of industry, government and our community.  We have the following objectives:

• to provide fundamental research into electronics design.
• to educate future designers and researchers.
• to improve the linkage between design and implementation in the UK university sector.
• to integrate nanotechnologies with microelectronic platforms.
• to "invent" new multi-scale, multi-technologies.

Resources

The Centre is extremely well-equipped with an extensive set of resources.

• Full access to the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre at the University of Glasgow, which includes:
  
  • state-of-the-art cleanrooms.
  • 10 nm wafer-scale electron beam lithography.
  • III-V "foundry".
  • micro- and nano-scale postprocessing to add value to silicon technology.
• High-performance computing and workstation cluster.
• RF anechoic chamber.
• On-wafer probing.
• Extensive test and measurement including:
  
  • wideband time and frequency domain technology.
  • precision dc and ac characterisation.
  • communications test equipment.
