"If your area of interest is about educational research, this is one of the places that you can gain more understanding, skills and research proficiency."
Pratchayapong Yasri
I chose to study at Glasgow because Glasgow is one of the biggest cities in the UK and the University of Glasgow is internationally well known.
I have wonderful support from my supervisor and faculty staff, a perfect balance between academic and social activities, and knowledge exchange between PhD colleagues who are from various parts of the world.
Why did you choose your chosen PhD Programme?
Its research strength is rated as one of the top Scottish universities in educational areas
What are the best three things about the programme?
International collaboration, facilities and supports are provided, and friendly environment between PhD students, staff and supervisors.
Three words to describe the University of Glasgow?
Excellent, supportive, international
What next? What do you plan to do after you have completed your studies?
I will return to my homeland, Thailand, working as a lecturer in science education at Mahidol University.
How do you expect your studies at Glasgow to contribute to your future?
So far, I’ve gained much more knowledge and understanding about educational research and science education (even this is my first year). By the end of my time here, I’m certainly sure that I will be trained to be a skilful educational researcher and will be able to apply what I’ve learned to improve Thai science education.
