School partnership

On behalf of the School of Education at the University of Glasgow I am delighted to welcome you to the School Partnership section of the School of Education website.

Those of us involved in the process of Initial Teacher Education have long been aware of the importance of good communication between all those involved: students, school partners (Headteachers, Regents, Principal Teachers, or class teachers), Local Authority staff and School of Education staff. Technology, in the form of this website, offers us a tremendous opportunity to build on and improve good communication. This section of the website includes information about the content of the ITE programmes in the School; School Experience; the patterns of school placements; the roles and responsibilities of students, School staff and school staff; assessment and reporting as well as a Frequently Asked Questions section. Additionally there are contact details for key staff within the School who will be able to respond quickly to any queries - and if they don't know the answers they know someone who does!

The School of Education at the University of Glasgow is involved in far more than Initial Teacher Education and this section offers links to other parts of the website relating to Continuing Professional Development and Research, among others.
