Biography

Donald Cameron was appointed as an Instructor in Dental Technology in the University of Glasgow Dental School in 1986.  In June 1995 he was awarded membership of the City and Guilds of London Institute for his dissertation on ‘A laboratory custom-made hinge-clasp for removable prosthodontics’.

He graduated with a MSc (Med Sci) from the University of Glasgow in July 1999 on ‘The control of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea using a mandibular advancement device’.

In February 2005 he was appointed as a University Teacher, Glasgow Dental School.  He completed the university New Lecturer and Teacher Programme at Glasgow and was awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in 2007.

He graduated EdD from the University of Strathclyde in November 2007.  Dr Cameron's EdD thesis compared approaches to teaching dental technology to dental undergraduates.  He was appointed lead of the Dental Education Research Group in November 2008.

He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr Cameron’s main research interest is methods for improving quality enhancement for learning including teaching facilitation.
