7. Floor of the mouth - a 'danger zone'. Anatomical landmarks e.g. submandibular duct orifices and sublingual folds are shown. 8. The ventral surface of the tongue should be viewed by asking the patient to touch the palate with the tongue tip. 9. Dorsal surface of the tongue. To the inexperienced observer, normal anatomical landmarks may cause 'diagnostic' concern.
