Fees-only scholarship for the Taught Masters in English Literature

English Literature is offering a fees-only scholarship for students wishing to pursue any of the Taught Masters programmes in English Literature.

This studentship is available only to UK students and EU nationals applying also to the AHRC for Masters funding. Candidates from outside the EU are not eligible for this award.

The Taught Masters in English Literature is designed as a one-year postgraduate degree (two years part-time) for students with a good Honours degree in English Literature. Preference may be given to applicants intending to proceed to doctoral study at the University of Glasgow.

Holders of this award may apply to Funding Councils for grants for doctoral study; and will be encouraged to apply for teaching positions in the Department once their PhD is underway.

How to apply

Candidates are advised to discuss their interests with the Graduate Convener- Christine Ferguson.

Applications should consist of a 1000-word case for support (which may be identical to the case for support made in the AHRC application form) and a brief covering letter, stating which degree programme is applied for and giving email and other contact details.

Deadline for applications: 1st March 2013. Award decisions will be made not later than end of June.
 
This scholarship is offered in memory of the late husband of Mrs A.L. Mann, who was known as Lauchlan Mann, and graduated MA from this University in 1951.
