Theory at Random
Theory at Random is a postgraduate-led reading group that meets weekly (Tuesday, 5-7pm) to discuss ‘theory’ in its multiple forms. Since its inception in 2009, our reading group has held sessions on topics ranging from psychoanalysis to queer theory, ecocriticism to illness/disability studies, animality to quantum philosophy-physics, feminist blogging to Canadian avant-garde poetics, and postcolonial theory to happiness studies. Texts are chosen by the group (‘at random’) and all suggestions are encouraged. We try our best to maintain a friendly atmosphere, and we welcome students from all subject areas!
